Meteor Shower

For those of you who met at the sundial in the wee hours of Tuesday morning craving abuelita hot chocolate, praying to la virgencita to move the clouds, and swearing you could see flashes of light out of the corner of your eye ... Well, it seems like we weren't the only ones disappointed with the meteor shower that night.

LHM Opening Reception

The Latino Heritage Month Opening Reception was held last night in Roone Artledge. The LHM Committee supplied us all with great food (mmm, maduros!) and a great program. Speakers reminded us of those who have paved the way for our success and our responsibility to do the same for others. La Bruja shared some spoken word that left us all thinking about our abuelitas. She ended with a twist on Rihanna's "Umbrella". It was great! Those of us there that night will now be singing "arroz con habichuela, ella, ella" every time we hear it. So don't miss out and make sure to check out the other events this month. It's a great time to meet more Latinos and engage in all aspects of our culture.

just for fun

Found this youtube video randomly. Miguel and I agreed that you all would find it funny. Perhaps because we could see members of Caucus engaging in this type of silliness. haha
Enjoy!

THE UNOFFICIAL FAREWELL

Luis made this video as his unofficial farewell to the Caucus.
And for all of us to realize how much we'll miss him. <3

LUIS RAMIREZ HATE CRIME
Some of you may have signed a petition to demand justice for the murder of Luis Ramirez, a Latino living in Shenadoah, Pennsylvannia who was beaten to death. In order to raise more awareness on this case and hate crimes in general, Univision did a special called "Odio a Muerte." Here's the page on it with videos to click on if you want to watch it:
